Melbourne, Australia: IDP Education has unveiled plans to extend its operations within Cambodia. The global education leader is set to open a new branch in Siem Reap province shortly, with subsequent expansions into Battambang, Kampong Cham, Kampot, Sihanoukville, and Poipet in Banteay Meanchey province.

This ambitious expansion strategy was shared by Ms. Tennealle O’Shannessy, CEO of IDP Education, during a courtesy meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Melbourne, Australia, on March 3rd.

Ms. O’Shannessy briefed Prime Minister Hun Manet on the current progress of IDP Education's operations in Cambodia, notably mentioning the ACE English Language Centre in Phnom Penh. This institution is celebrated for its leading role in English language education and its international recognition.

Expressing her gratitude towards the Royal Government of Cambodia, Ms. O’Shannessy praised the continued support for IDP Education's business endeavors in the Kingdom. She reaffirmed the company's dedication to maintaining strong cooperation with Cambodian educational institutions.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet commended IDP Education for its pivotal role in enhancing the educational landscape and human resource development in Cambodia. He emphasized the critical importance of English language training in today’s globalized world, where English serves as a key facilitator in labor, business, and social interactions.

Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the 7th-mandate Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to fostering economic growth through the development of skilled human resources. He encouraged IDP Education to persist in its support and collaboration with relevant Cambodian ministries. This includes exploring opportunities with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to offer training in digital technology skills, further contributing to the nation’s human resource development.
